We, Greek people, are often asked questions like "why do u guys burn your forests?" It is something we are not proud of and something that enrages us, as every single summer more and more green areas are turned into ash.
This is not the time for philosophical approaches to the matter. It is time for ACTION.
Sunday 13th of December ΣΠΑΠ, the organization of the municipalities and communities for the protection and reformation of the area of Pentelikos, calls for our help towards the REFORESTATION* of the burned area.
Esn Kapa & ESN NTUA Teams will be there and we are hoping to see you too there.
Sure it is very early in the morning and mostly a Sunday morning, but causes like that deserve little sacrifices, don't you think?
It is a chance to prove that young people don't only care about having fun, but also are part of the world, they are its future.
Think about it and if you are indeed interested fill in this form http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dEVVenZxTF9COFNVdTFIY01GenFkMUE6MA . We need to know how many people we will be so that we can arrange the way we will be transfered to the area and the number of hoes we will need.
*Reforestation is planting new trees ;)
*******UPDATE*****************
The meeting point is in Halandri station(blue metro line) at 7.55 in the morning.. From there, we can take either bus 451Α or bus 412 until the end of their route. The first 451A comes from Halandri station at 8.05 sharp and the next one, along with the 412 bus at 8.45. So please be on time because we want to catch 451A at 8.05.. At 9 we have a meeting with the rest of the people who will take part in the reforestation and go to the reforestation spot all together.
There is also another option that might seem better to some people. Go to Marousi station(green line) and from there take bus 446 until ΑΦΕΤΗΡΙΑ (afetiria) station (this bus passes at 8.10).
We know it's really hard to wake up so early but remember that it's for a good cause! :)
